LOCAL businesswoman Meena Pathak, is celebrating after picking up the Award for Achievement in the Corporate Business Sector, at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards ceremony held at the Grosvenor House hotel, London.
Dr Raj Persaud, resident psychiatrist on the 'This Morning' television programme, presented the award to Meena, who collected this coveted prize despite stiff oppostion, as the woman behind the Pataks Spices empire.
Meena, who started her career in the food industry at the Sheraton Group of hotels before moving on to the Taj group of hotels, is responsible for transforming the Pataks brand - produced in Haydock - into a household name.
