BINGO fan Gertrude Pointon's number really came up the day she bought a £1 prize draw ticket in aid of the Christie's cancer hospital from the Stockport branch of Lookers Mitsubishi.
For the lucky 77-year-old grandmother from Nutgrove Hall Drive, Thatto Heath, scooped first prize of a brand new V-reg Mitsubishi Colt! But her unexpected windfall also gave Gertrude a problem - she can't drive! So she has given the £10,000 car to her son Michael.
A delighted Gertrude said: "I couldn't believe it when I got a telephone call telling me my ticket had won, I thought it was a wind-up. I enjoy playing bingo occasionally but I have never won anything big before. I think it's marvellous."
