FIVE men were arrested and drugs with a street value of £600 seized after a successful surveillance operation by police.

"Operation Nura" was launched by Bury police's drug unit two months ago to target dealers in the area.

Seven officers raided a house in the town and arrested one man. Four others had been arrested previously during the same inquiry.

Sgt Steven Horton said: "During the operation, we recovered drugs with a street value of £600 and also around £2,000 in cash.

"This operation had been running on-and-off for about two months."

Those detained by officers are likely to face drugs-related charges at a later date. The drugs seized by police are currently undergoing forensic tests.

During "Operation Nura," plain clothes officers were involved in surveillance and observation prior to the house raid.
