MODEL rail enthusiasts made tracks to Nelson Civic Theatre to see miniature layouts from France and Germany as well as closer to home.
Pendle Forest Model Railway Society's annual exhibition opened last night and has the green light to continue over the weekend.
Hundreds of visitors are expected to attend the event which includes a model of Nelson railway station as it was in the 1960s to mark the 150th anniversary of the real railway reaching the town.
It is one of eight working layouts at the exhibition. Others include models from the society's "twin" clubs in Marl, Germany, and Creil, France.
The society, which is 35 years old, is hoping other attractions such as trade stands, a miniature ride, film shows and stands by preservation groups will appeal to little kids and big kids alike.
The exhibition runs until 6pm today and from 10am to 6pm tomorrow.
