A LOCAL man was due to appear in court today charged with making threats to kill Blackburn MP and Home Secretary Jack Straw.
The man was arrested in Blackburn last Friday following an incident in the town centre.
The 47-year-old local man has not been named by police but has also been charged with making threats to kill another MP, understood to be Keith Bradley, who represents Manchester Withington. He is deputy chief whip and a former social security minister.
The threats are alleged to have been made at Mr Straw's Blackburn constituency office in Richmond Terrace.
Police released the man on police bail after interviewing him over the weekend.
