MUSIC to greet the new millennium will be performed at a special charity concert at St Peter's Parish Church, Burnley, in the New Year.
The event has been organised by the East Lancashire Youth Orchestra in association with the church to raise money for Hospice Care for Pendle and Burnley.
The idea is to assemble a magnificent choir to meet and rehearse at the church at 3pm prior to the 6.30pm performance on Sunday, January 16.
Those taking part and the audience will be asked for a donation of £5, or as much as they can afford.
The exact programme has not yet been finalised but it is hoped to include Zodak the Priest (Handel), Mozart's Ave Verum, the Hallelujah Chorus and Parry's Jerusalem.
Names of those who wish to take part are needed by the end of November - including voice type so that the programme can be finalised and the orchestra can start on rehearsals.
Names should be given to Caroline Smith (tel. 01282 423154) or Nigel Atkinson (tel. 01282 425286).
