BLUE Peter presenter Katy Hill and a Texas superstore boss are among the celebrities lined up by presenters from a high school's radio station which 'went live' today.
Ivy Bank High School, Burnley, has gained a special licence from the Radio Authority to put out news, views and music on air for a week from today on 107FM.
The school's development officer Michael Watson said: "I wrote to Katy Hill to ask if she would agree to be interviewed and she wrote back saying yes.
"Head girl Claire Plaine and head boy Andrew Stubbs, both 15, recorded the telephone interview on Friday and it will be broadcast two or three times this week.
"Hopefully, the school will also get a mention on Blue Peter."
In May the school got a temporary licence for a day and will use the experience to put together a packed week of broadcasts.
Joanne Webb, 14, has interviewed Collin Claunch, operations director of the WalMart store in Denton, Texas - Burnley Asda store's twin in America.
Since Asda was taken over by American giant WalMart, all Asda stores in Britain have been linked with a WalMart store. Burnley manager Andy Davies visited Denton and Collin is currently paying a return trip to Burnley.
Kate Winstanley, 14, will interview Burnley FC manager Stan Ternent and Peter Butterfield, editor of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, will review morning newspapers.
Classical pianists Sally Bishop and Anne-Marie Hastings will be interviewed.
The station has its own website on www.ibfm.co.uk and e-mail address radio@ibfm.co.uk
