POLICE today warned drivers to allow more time for their journeys due to roadworks in Darwen.
Closures on Lower Eccleshill Link Road and Bog Height Road have caused a heavy build-up of traffic during rush hours.
The Lower Eccleshill Link Road is closed for 100 metres south of its roundabout junction with the motorway link road. Resurfacing work is being carried out.
Drivers should use an alternative route along the link road, the A666, Hollin Grove Street and back on to Lower Eccleshill Road.
Work is due to finish on December 22.
Bog Height Road is closed for 700 metres from near to its junction with the A666.
The road will be closed until February 15 and drivers should go along Livesey Branch Road and Heys Lane before going back on to Bog Height Road.
Any inquiries about the closures should be made to Blackburn with Darwen Council's technical services department helpline on 01254 585932.
