SCOT Derek Norrie had an even closer shave than England after his national team lost narrowly to the "Auld Enemy".
Derek, chef at the Mason's Arms pub, Burnley Road, Waterfoot, had his head shaved after losing a bet with landlord Tom Naughton that Scotland would beat England in the European Championship play-off.
The Scots lost by a whisker, 2-1 on aggregate, and Derek had to undergo his hair-raising experience by being shaved in front of customers.
Landlady Julia Naughton said: "It started off originally as a bet by my husband and another regular that they would have their heads shaved if Scotland beat England 3-0.
"Then another customer said he would have a full body wax if Scotland won and Derek, being the only Scot, decided he would have to get in on it."
A collection taken during the head shave raised £22 which will go to the Fire Brigade Benevolent Fund.
