IT is welcome news at last that Tony Blair has given the go-ahead for a Bill to ban fur farms in Britain.
Mink farmers breed up to 5,000 a year. Considering there are 13 farms in Britain, this is a cruel exploitation of wild animals for an inessential luxury item.
These farmers are likely to receive cash compensation and will be given at least two years to close down this inhumane industry.
The majority of the public would not contemplate wearing animal fur, when fake fur is so available.
