A COUPLE had a lucky escape when their car left the road, rolled over into a field and hit a tree.
The accident happened on the Haslingden by-pass near to the Little Chef shortly after 11pm on Tuesday.
Two ambulances and the fire and rescue service went to the scene and were amazed that the middle aged couple were able to climb out of the wreckage of the Mercedes car uninjured.
The car was driven by Oliver Haines, 58, a farmer, of Gisburn.
A fire service spokesman said: "They were out of the car when we arrived. The car was quite a mess and they were very lucky not to be seriously hurt."
