JUST got back after a couple of mad days in London, wow, what a week ... Pop Stars, TV personalities, Stringfellows, China Town, a parking ticket and a wheel clamp, no wonder my back's playing me up, mind you, I was in good company.
My friend and Radio City colleague Rick 'The Wind Thing' Vaughn came along for the ride.
While I was away, two songs we reviewed last time took high positions on the chart ... Robbie Williams and Will Smith. So let's see if we get the same success in this weeks Starbeat record review.
The World is Not enough - Garbage First, Tina Turner then Sheryl Crow and now Garbage. Pierce Brosnan's not only lucky with his leading ladies but also the choice of artists to produce his 'Bond' themes. This has got everything, bang up to date but still retaining that classic 007 sound.
Northern Star - Melanie C The title track and the second single to be lifted off her debut album. I've been playing this on my show for ages and I love it. The chorus is so catchy and it's a complete contrast to the first single, 'I'm Goin Down'. This will be a huge hit.
When we are Together - Texas Fresh from their 'Hush' arena tour, this is another first rate release from the Scottish band. I bumped into Sharlene from Texas the other day, and she remains one of my favourite people in pop, great fun and with her feet firmly on the ground.
