AS a paramedic working in Cardiff I have an interest in the history of the ambulance service and, in particular, the insignia used by each service.
As a collector of service cap badges, my aim is to produce a definitive list of each service, its history, badges used and the dates which they were worn.
This poses me with a problem, since it is proving difficult to make contact with members of many ambulance services that are no longer in existence, some dating back more than 40 years.
I am appealing to ex-members of Preston Ambulance Service to contact me with a view to providing me with information and their experiences in the service.
