Helsby 2nd 3 Vulcan 2nd15 VULCAN stretched their unbeaten run into double figures. However, the home side took the lead with a penalty goal
This seemed to wake Vulcan up and within five minutes Vulcan crossed the whitewash through Baines.
The remainder of the first half produced end-to-end football, with great attacking and defensive play by the entire Vulcan team.
The second half continued to be a running game until Morris settled the game down with a penalty goal. For the remainder of the second half Vulcan played their football in the home sides half, but good scrambling defence by the Helsby side kept Vulcan out. As the game progressed Helsby started to play panic football and this played straight into Vulcan's hands as the game went into the final quarter. The Vulcan pack began to dominate their opponents and showing some great play they recycled the ball a number of times, until charging S.Hughes crashed over for the final Vulcan try.
Man of the match was P.Wood .
Vulcan travel to Eccles on Saturday. Players meet at 1pm.
