ELTON-based cricketer Darron Foy is a man on a mission. The Kearsley CC all-rounder journeys to Villa Park tomorrow, aiming to save face in an indoor Test series that currently sees England trailing 4-0 to the Aussies.
Darron, a former professional with Elton and Kearsley, has toured Australia and New Zealand playing indoor cricket and featured in a World Cup event in Birmingham in recent years.
"The Aussies are a good side. They're the current world champions and we will have our work cut out just to save face and win a game tomorrow," said Darron.
Former Greenmount cricketer Darron is staying at Kearsley next season as an amateur. He has played for Lancashire seconds and while looking forward to next summer, he is also relishing tne next indoor World Cup tournament, planned for South Africa next year.
A projects engineer with a Bury water filtration firm, Darron who is sponsored by Suprafilt of Rochdale on the indoor circuit, added: "I just hope we can put up a better show than England are doing in South Africa at the moment."
