REGARDING the remarks of Dino Christodoulou about young people not wearing Remembrance Day poppies (Letters, November 17).
The previous Wednesday evening I had the privilege of attending the Speech Night of St Bede's School, Blackburn, and every pupil, both in the hall and on stage, was wearing one.
They were also selling them to members of the public attending the evening.
These young people wore their poppies with pride and gave me hope for the future. I also work in a primary school in Accrington where, each November, the head tells the children about the Accrington Pals and the importance of Remembrance Day.
In telling tales of courage and suffering, they ensure that future generations will surely never forget.
