REGARDING your report (LET, November 19) that Hyndburn Council chiefs were worried about not receiving a slice of the Euro funding cake they had hoped for, when I read this, I was struck by an incredible thought that was so simple we must have missed it before.
Why don't we, the British people, ask our elected servant of the people (Mr Blair) to stop giving our hundreds of millions of pounds to those British-loving continentals and spend it on us instead?
I know this is a bit radical and could de-rail the Euro gravy train with all its faceless, useless, meaningless MEPs, not to mention the organised corruption, expensive office refits and, let's not forget, personal expenses. Just think what we could do with the money. For those who think this is a bit extreme I would like to remind them of the old saying "You can't get more out than you put in."
