TWO Lancashire athletes took first places in a West Yorkshire fell race.
Pete Lyons from Rossendale Harriers and Graham Schofield, a former Blackburn Harrier, were respective winners of the M50 and M40 categories in the Rivock Edge Hill Race at Keighley.
Clayton's Shaun Addison was third M40. Todmorden Harriers Sean Willis and Karl Smith finished second and third in a race won by Pudsey and Bramley's Paul Sheard. First lady Jo Prowse had a satisfying return, she missed three months with injury after a nasty fall in last year's event.
Five Blackburn Road Runners also competed in Yorkshire, at the Barnsley 10K road race. John Mitchell recorded 43.12 to finish clear of Mick Chimejczuk (45.21), Adrian Batson (47.50), Ronnie Smith (48.00) and Dougie Joss (58.30). At Clownes near Sheffield, West Pennine's Neil Holding finished 19th of over 150 runners in a half marathon.
