SAM Allardyce is praying Jimmy Phillips can help him solve a massive selection headache ahead of Bolton's home clash against Tranmere tomorrow.
Phillips only returned to training yesterday after tweaking his hamstring against Fulham last week. But with replacement John O'Kane out with an ankle injury, Paul Warhurst still suffering with a hamstring and Gudni Bergsson out with a groin strain, Allardyce is fast running out of options.
Dean Holdsworth (hamstring) and Keith Branagan (ankle) are also missing, but Allardyce is boosted in midfield with Gareth Farrelly back in the melting pot after being Cup-tied against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.
Robbie Elliott is expected to make his first start since mid-October having scored as a substitute against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.
Squad: Jaaskelainen, Whitlow, Johansen, Jensen, Gardner, Gudjohnsen, Hansen, Fish, Aljofree, Elliott, Taylor, Passi, Holden, Banks, Farrelly, Strong, Potter.
