BARROWFORD Celtic started the game like a team possessed and were 3-0 up after 15 minutes.
Darwen pulled a goal back through Anthony Mills, only to concede another soft goal to go in 4-1 down at half time. Darwen started the second half like their lives depended on it and played Barrowford off the park. A superb run down the left-hand side by Iain Duncan resulted in a tremendous looping header from Lee Charnock which gave the keeper no chance.
On 65 minutes, pressure from Anthony Mills resulted in an own goal from Barrowford's centre back to make it 4-3. In the 73rd minute Darwen were awarded a free kick 25 yards out, captain Damien Pickup hit a ferocious right-foot thunderbolt which left the Barrowford keeper rooted to the spot.
The comeback looked very much on and the Barrowford spectators couldn't believe what they were seeing. To cap a magnificent team performance James Scott, right back, flew down the right wing and laid on an inch-perfect pass to Danny Miller, Darwen Boys centre forward who went past two defenders and the keeper for a clinical finish. Man of the match was James Scott.
