ALLSPEEDS' visit to East Lancs in Division One of the Hyndburn Table Tennis League, resulted in a fine 9-1 away win for the engineers with Keith Ward, Keith Jackson and fearsome Frank Hamer the winning trio.
East Lancs shared the points in a 5-5 draw with Attackers, Colin Wilson and Ian Haworth winning two matches each for the Cricketers, and Colin Parkinson and Michael Ray with two victories each for Attackers.
Haslingden CC played host to Attackers and went down 7-3. Eddie Kalinowski was unbeaten for the losers.
Allspeeds Res whitewashed Tek Neek 10-0 in Division Two this week, David Heys Suzanne Geldard and Keith Ainscoe were the winning trio. Second place Temple Street had a close 5-5 home draw with Shahsmen. Frank Rowland was the star on the night for Temple Street. Rovers clash against a weakened Raiders side resulted in a 6-4 win for the third placed side. Rachel McHugh had two fine wins for the losers.
Harlequins top group three with a 7-3 home triumph over Optimists during which Norman Robinson the main man with three fine wins for the winners, and Martin Bowen had a tremendous victory over Danny Chamberlain 21-15, 21-7. Hustlers drew 5-5 with fast improving Stanhill. Tim Whittaker took maximum points for the village side and Nigel Penberthy continued his fine form with two wins. A depleted Casuals side drew 5-5 with Brierfield. Alan Ormeord was once again the backbone of his team's performance, winning his matches in straight sets.
Shahsmen Res moved up to fifth place with a comprehensive 9-1 home win over Brierfield. Fred Holden, captain Nazir Shah and 'young gun' Chris Booth were the winning team.
New Era Res dominate Division Four with another 6-4 win even with two players against Springhill, who then took revenge on Dash winning 8-2 with Linda Peel and Philip Heys unbeaten. Second-placed Baxenden shared the points 5-5 with Slammers, Trevor Greenwood kept his 100 per cent record intact with three victories.
