VISITORS to a UFO conference will this weekend be treated to a new amazing explanation for airborne phenomena - that some of the "craft" could actually be living creatures.
The conference in Lytham promises to be the biggest in Britain this year with guest speakers from the USA, including Jose Escamilla, who believes he has conclusive proof that the classic cigar-shaped UFO is an undiscovered life form which originated on earth.
Jose was born in Roswell, New Mexico, famous for an alleged alien spaceship crash in 1947.
He claims he discovered what he calls "Rods" on film in 1994.
Since seeing them on an extreme sports video, where skydivers parachuted into a 1,250 ft-deep Mexican cave, Jose has collected more than 2,500 hours of video footage of them from all over the world.
And he has already answered sceptics who say all the footage is fake by collecting footage from other sources, such as National Geographic, CBS and Fox.
Jose, who has appeared on countless American television shows, said: "I went back to the cave just two weeks ago and we captured footage of the Rods on 16mm camera, digital camera and Hi-8 film at the same time.
"I think they are a life form of some kind that has been here for a long, long time.
"This cave seems to be a natural habitat for them and we could now go in to do a scientific study." James Peters from Colorado's Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) has accompanied Jose on his trip and assisted with his research.
He added: "We feel the creatures move with the same type of motion as a cuttlefish - but they are flying and have been seen moving at more than 120mph.
"They seem to also vary in size, from 4ins to 12ft."
Event organiser Robert Whitehead, also a leading member of Lancashire Aerial Phenomena Investigation Society (LAPIS) , believes this conference will be the best yet.
He said: "This year we are bringing a mixed bag of speakers to Lowther Pavilion, which is the best venue around.
"Jose will be showing exclusive new footage, and other speakers over the two days include author Nick Redfearn, talking about the FBI and their UFO files, and a retired British Airways pilot who will talk about two close encounters."
The conference is taking place on Saturday and Sunday at Lowther Pavilion and tickets cost £20 for the two days, or £12 each day.
