A LOCAL community project has finally been picked as the winner of the Jewson Challenge.
A few weeks ago staff at the Bury builders Merchant were looking for a community project in need of a facelift.
After poring through the many entries the judges have chosen the Chesham Road Children's Home, Bury, as just the job for the Jewson Challenge.
On December 13 the team will head down to the home and work on the grounds which are in need of repaving so that it can be used as a play and recreation area.
Mrs Jill Sudborough, centre manager, was delighted with the news. "We are thrilled. The grounds really are in need of work. There are many worthy causes in Bury and we are over the moon that ours was chosen."
