DEFENDER Gary Parkinson is back in training after 10 months of injury hell.
The 31-year-old has been pencilled in to play a part in a forthcoming reserve game, although PNE say they will not rush his return to action. Parky's season was dogged by injury, which culminated in the need to have his knee rebuilt by specialists in April, and as physio Mick Rathbone said: "It was a bad injury and something you can't rush. He has been patient and has done everything asked of him while he has been out."
PNE have slashed the prices of tickets for the forthcoming clash with Wrexham in the Autowindscreens Shield. Club bosses hope to attract a larger crowd to the fixture by slashing prices for the game to just £5 across the ground. The game is scheduled to take place at Deepdale on Tuesday, and club chiefs say the move to slash prices was made partly to help fans who have already had to stump to watch nine cup games already this season, and also to entice people to the ground to give the players a boost.
