Traffic was held up for six hours on the motorway just outside Lancaster yesterday morning.
Traffic had to be diverted through Lancaster and on to A6 after a lorry carrying paint overturned north of Junction 34. The two men aboard the lorry were taken to the RLI with cuts and bruises but neither were seriously hurt. All lanes on the motorway were blocked when the lorry overturned at about 3.45am. Delays continued into the rush hour and there was a tailback as far south as Preston.
