A FACELIFT for Thatto Heath has been given the go ahead by St Helens Council's Leisure Committee.
The £150,000 scheme includes the removal of redundant features, reducing the risk of crime, the provision of a multi-use games area and a toddlers play area.
The proposals have been on public display in the area and local residents were asked for their comments.
Committee chairman, Councillor Keith Deakin, said: "There seems to be general support for the proposed improvements which will give a new lease of life to this park. There have been some concerns expressed about the partial filling-in of the dell and the extent of tree and shrub removal we proposed to reduce the number of places of concealment for those intent on committing crimes. We will take these comments on board when the detailed designs for the scheme are produced.
