POLICE are appealing for witnesses following the theft of two articulated lorries containing an estimated £100,000 worth of electrical items and spirits from Ramage Distribution in Kilbuck Lane on the Haydock Industrial Estate.
The theft occurred sometime between 8 and 8.40pm on Saturday, November 24 and the Leyland DAF lorries, both painted with the distinctive yellow Ramage Distribution logo, were later recovered in Birkenhead and Cheshire.
One of the lorries contained electrical items including fridge-freezers, TVs and washing machines, while the other contained a large quantity of spirits and some items were still inside the lorries.
Police are now trying to ascertain how much stock has been stolen and are appealing to anyone with information to contact DC Alan Pennington at St Helens CID on 0151 777 6064 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
