ST HELENS Council has taken swift action after a tenant used his dog to threaten staff at one of its local offices.
The incident happened at Eccleston local office when a tenant used threatening behaviour towards staff, and it was alleged, also agitated his Alsatian dog towards staff in an intimidating manner.
Police were called to the office as a result of the incident.
The following day an anti-social behaviour injunction was obtained against the tenant at St Helens County Court.
The order carries the power of arrest if there is any further aggressive behaviour by the same tenant over the next three months.
Chairman of the council's Housing and Environmental Services Committee, Councillor Richard Ward, said: "This is not the first time our staff have faced aggressive behaviour, but it is only the second time we have taken out an order of this sort. Our local offices do their best to be helpful when tenants have a problem and the sort of behaviour experienced from the tenant on this occasion was simply not acceptable.
