Children had to be evacuated from a community home last night after a burst fire hose caused severe flooding.
Fire crews were called to the Crestmoor home in Haslingden Old Road, Rawtenstall, at about 11.30pm.
Water from the hose on the first floor damaged the electrics. Emergency lighting was off and it was not clear whether the fire alarm was working efficiently.
Youngsters spent the night elsewhere.
