ONE hundred young residents of Reedley Hallows near Burnley were yesterday presented with Millennium beakers.

The bone china beakers bear the coat of arms of Reedley Hallows Parish Council and a Millennium message.

Parish council chairman Alan Binns made the presentations at Belvedere and Calder Vale sports club.

Coun Binns said: "We contacted every house in the parish informing them that the beakers were available to every child of school age resident in the parish. We received 133 requests - including two on behalf of children who were then not even born."
