A MEETING to tackle the problem of teenage nuisance in Oswaldtwistle was held at a youth club.
Police said the problem centred around the West End area where gangs of youths congregated at night. Representatives from the police, Hyndburn Council and youth workers attended the event at Harvey Street Youth Club.
Sergeant Ian Critchley said: "The aim is to move them off the streets and have a programme of events at Harvey Street Youth Club such as discos and arranging trips out.
"The youth in that area say they don't have anything to do so we are also looking at the possibility of floodlighting certain areas so they can play football or take part in other activities at night."
Around 30 boys and girls, aged between 13 and 17, attended the meeting.
