JOHN Blunt was quick to dismiss the Lancashire millennium guide to public services (LET, November 24).
I can tell him that Blackburn with Darwen Council is proud to have been involved in its conception and production, along with our partner agencies across the county, and I can further assure him that we have received a very positive response from local people who have received it.
He might also be interested to know that his own organisation could also be counted among our partners, since Newsquest were employed to distribute the publication in some of those areas served by its newspapers, including Blackburn and Darwen. Mr Blunt will be pleased to learn that this accounted for a substantial part of the cost.
While I have no doubt that the publication is in safe custody, anyone who does not receive a copy can find one at any of the council's information centres in Blackburn and Darwen and at the town's two main libraries.
