BOOTLEGGERS bringing cheap beer to East Lancashire were warned of a cross-channel clampdown after customs smashed a multi-million pound smuggling ring.
It was believed a number of small gangs were operating in East Lancashire, bringing regular van loads of cheap beer back from Calais to sell to the public at car boot sales, shops and restaurants.
