THE poppy appeal in Great Harwood has collected a record sum this year.
Poppy organiser for the Royal British Legion Great Harwood branch, Paul Dunn, said they had raised over £3,000 so far this year - the largest in its history.
Mr Dunn said: "I would like to thank all the people, collectors, businesses and shops at Great Harwood for the hard work they put in for the poppy appeal this year."
"Last year we collected £2,500 which was the final figure but there is still more to come in this year. The generosity of the people of Great Harwood has been absolutely fantastic."
