A TEACHER struck down by the killer disease meningitis almost two weeks ago is still recovering in hospital.

The 42-year-old Darwen Vale High School teacher, who lives in Accrington, is being treated at Bury General Hospital.

East Lancashire Health Authority spokeswoman Judith Roberts said: "There was some improvement in his condition over the weekend but he is still being treated in hospital. Staff say his condition is satisfactory."
