HYNDBURN AC are NOT disbanding but are currently in the process of rebuilding!

The club held its annual presentation evening at the Come and Welcome Club, Clayton-le-Moors when Hyndburn athlete Rory Birbeck - an international and multi-record holder - handed out the awards.

Despite the club's initial setback early on the year when their National Lottery bid was turned down and they lost some athletes because of it, they are now actively starting the fightback with new members already showing potential for the future.

During the year club athletes have become champions at the Lancashire Schools and Lancashire County Championships, and also represented Lancashire at various levels including the National Inter-Counties Championships.

The McDonalds' Girls team gained promotion into Division One for next season, and a team will be entered in the Northern Women's League for the next campaign.

The club, who are in the process of resubmitting a Lottery bid, said they would like to take this opportunity to firstly thank all the Hyndburn athletes, coaches and helpers for all their efforts, and secondly to quash once and for all any rumours that the club is about to disband.
