CHILDREN'S facilities at Burnley General Hospital are moving into a brand new state-of-the-art development this weekend.
Wards 25 and 26 and the Turner ward in the Wilson Hey unit are being relocated in the new Deerplay and Turner wards in the multi-million pound Edith Watson unit near to the accident and emergency and out-patients' department.
The move has been thoroughly and meticulously planned to minimise patient inconvenience.
Business development officer Chris Allen said: "There is bound to be some disruption and we ask people to bear with us as the move takes place over the weekend."
Sign posts will direct people to the new facilities.
Every aspect of the unit has been re-designed and improved and For the first time, health services for women and children will be grouped together in facilities designed to share good practice and ease the flow of staff and equipment.
