GLEN Little and Republic of Ireland international Rory Delap will go head-to-head at Pride Park tomorrow with the control of the Clarets' left flank at stake.
Little has increasingly been asked to patrol Burnley's left wing this season. And while that has prompted him to cut inside more often, he still poses a major threat to most defences.
Delap will fill the right wing-back role for Derby County with a licence to get forward.
And the former Carlisle United man has proved his effectiveness in that role by going into tomorrow's FA Cup third-round tie with six Premiership goals to his credit.
It's in the goalscoring stakes that Delap is comfortably ahead of Little in Opta's statistics, with the Burnley man, who will have to take on his share of the defensive duties at Pride Park, more than holding his own in other departments.
The duo have made an almost identical number of passes but Little boasts the greater accuracy and has laid on more chances for his team-mates.
Little is also ahead in dribbling and crossing, although he will hope to improve his 30 per cent completion rate on crossing.
Not surprisingly, Delap, a £500,000 buy from Carlisle in Feburary, 1998 and one of Derby's most consistent performers, has the best figures in the defending department.
However, he has committed just half the number of fouls, which suggests Little will have to be near his best to get much change from the Derby wide man.
