I WOULD like to put forward my thoughts on the proposed new stadium for St Helens Rugby League Club.
As our neighbours, Wigan, have the fantastic new JJB Stadium, I think that Saints should have a stadium with the same seating capacity or more (let's not be outdone by the old enemy!)
As St Helens is famous for glass and Rugby League, it would be a good idea to call the new stadium The Pilkington Glass Stadium. Pilks could supply all the glass for the stadium free, in return for it bearing their name.
This would be a permanent monument/advertisement for the company, something that would benefit Pilkington, Saints, and the people of St Helens - a great thought for the new millennium and something to look forward to.
