NOW that Neil Warnock has left Bury FC, chairman Mr Terry Robinson believes all the stay-away fans will return.
But the only way the fans will return is if they see a team playing good football. Unfortunately, the team that Neil Warnock assembled is not capable of that.
In my 50-odd years as a true Shaker, I cannot remember a worse squad of players representing Bury FC. Even in the dark days of the Fourth Division we at least saw some football.
The completion of some excellent ground improvements has meant that the playing side of the club has suffered, and over the past two seasons, Johnson, Butler, Lucketti, Kiely, Johnrose, Matthews, D'Jaffo, Hughes, Armstrong and others have left the club for total transfer fees in the region of £4.5 million. Where has it all gone? All we have now is a team of free transfer players and has-beens.
Mr Robinson & Co would probably say that I don't what I am talking about. But it does make you think, doesn't it?
A. DICKINSON, Whitefield.
