SO, Warnock is out at last. Well at least it's a move in the right direction, although one has to feel sorry for the supporters of Sheffield United.

Looking back at the club's past choice of managers, namely Sam Ellis (twice), Stan Ternent and the late, but unlamented, Neil Warnock, one has to wonder just what sort of genius we will get lumbered with next. I don't think we have played decent football since Martin Dobson left.

Someone must take the blame for the lack of football played at Gigg Lane in recent years and that can only be chairman Terry Robinson. He holds the responsibility for choosing the managers and is a self-confessed lover of "the big boot". Our esteemed chairman does not seem to appreciate what the club needs; indeed, he seems hell-bent on driving Bury FC into the breaker's yard. How on earth can a club which plays such poor football and is watched by so few spectators afford to pay ridiculously inflated wages?

At the same time Mr Robinson is moaning and blaming the paying spectators who pay through the nose for all the ills. This is besides trying to get them to pay for the new stand out of their pensions and hard-earned £200-£300 a week wages.

I am afraid that putting the running of the team in the hands of a couple of virtually past-it players (hard as they might try) is not the answer. So if a takeover bid is made, Mr Robinson must snatch it up with both hands and wave goodbye.
