LOWERHOUSE Cricket Club have come to an agreement with their landlords, the Dugdale Trust, to continue playing Lancashire League cricket at the Liverpool Road ground for the coming Year 2000 season.
The 50-year lease was due to terminate as at April 30 2000, but an extension for the remainder of the year has been agreed.
The club are looking at several options for the long-term development of the club. A comprehensive sporting and social complex is planned and a development group has been formed to discuss funding, location and structural options.
The club secretary, Keith Fairclough said: "We are confident that we can begin the new Millennium with greater success at a potentially exciting time for the league which has secured a major new sponsor and the signing of quality professionals."
