LOSING any game by the narrowest of margins is always frustrating, but for Broadway C, from Division Two, it was a double dose when, playing twice in the week, they fell just short in both matches.
At Fearns B they were never ahead, but managed to keep in touch, finally drawing level at 8-8 only to lose both the last two points and against Transport A a tremendous effort in the levels from 8-2 down was again to no avail as Transport held on for a 10-8 win. Their points haul though was enough to lift them into second spot whilst at the bottom Badgercote B lost ground on Fearns B above them by losing 12-6 to St Thomas. In Division Three, Waterbarn B's title hopes were given a double boost with a maximum against short-handed Edenfield, and then by Wesley Nomad's somewhat unexpected 12-6 home defeat by Goodshaw who move into second place ahead of Nomads. Phoenix also gained ground on those above them with a full house at struggling Has- lingden.
