STRONG second half performances brought a winning double whammy to the senior hockey and rugby sides of a Lytham school.
King Edward VII and Queen Mary School 1st XI put three goals without reply past Blackpool and Fylde College in the last half hour.
Captain Vicki Turner cracked in a fierce shot from a short corner and Sarah Kennedy and Oona Cassidy completed a convincing win.
The senior rugby trailed Ermysted's School from Skipton for an hour, but penalties from John Hill and a converted opportunist try from winger Andy Gill enabled Lytham to snatch the game 16-10 at the death.
Both senior sides now face touring teams from New South Wales, Australia, in the final two weeks of the term.
