Clock Face Miners 12 Swinton I P 6 CLOCK ended their recent run of defeats as they came from behind to win this hard fought encounter.
It looked as if another defeat was on the cards as Swinton went into the lead after just 10 minutes with a converted try. But Clock's defence held firm for the rest of the half.
Five minutes after the break Clock were awarded a penalty near the posts.
Mal Grant kicked the goal, then two minutes later they got the try they deserved. A break by Damian Grimes saw the ball go to Carl Thompson then onto Glynn Walsh then back to Thompson, who touched down near the posts. Grant's conversion gave Clock the lead.
Clock then went further ahead when from a play-the-ball close to the Swinton line Grimes put a grubber kick through, and was first to the ball to score.
Swinton were never out of the game, and came close to scoring on several occasions but the muddy conditions and some try-saving tackles by the Clock defence, made sure that the points were going to Clock Face.
The Jonwood Joinery man of the match was Mal Grant.
