Parr Hare & Hounds 4 Blackpool Stanley 24 THIS was a game Hounds could and should have won.
Once again though it was a case of the missing players. After having to kick-off with just 12 men, not surprisingly the home side soon found themselves 12-nil down.
A couple of late arrivals boosted the playing strength to 14 - quickly reduced to a bare 13 by injury - but by then Blackpool had taken the initiative and it was was always going to be an uphill struggle.
To their credit, Hounds kept plugging away but a converted try early in the second half virtually wrapped up the points for Stanley.
Hounds hit back when skipper Karl Grounds showed power and pace to break through for a well-deserved four-pointer, but Blackpool made sure of the points with a try by veteran second-row Andy Runciman, goaled by burly centre Tony Green.
Karl Grounds was the Dolphin Glass man-of-the-match for Hounds, with good displays also by second-row Phil Thompson and prop Mark Houghton.
IN common with other clubs, Hounds are desperate to boost their playing strength. Anyone really interested in playing amateur Rugby League is asked to contact Frank Martin on 01744 630919 (home) or 01744 611861 (work).
