BUDDING soccer starlets at Lane Ends Athletic Junior FC have been given a cash boost - courtesy of club chairman, Ray Moore.
For Ray, who works at Whitbread's Samlesbury Brewery in Preston, was chosen for one of the company's WAVE (Whitbread Awards for Volunteer Effort) awards, in recognition of his voluntary work.
And he promptly handed over the £200 to the club where he has been chairman for the past couple of years.
He said: "One of my main tasks is to raise extra funds for the club so I was delighted when Whitbread gave me the £200. It will help to buy some new mobile goal posts so the youngsters are not limited as to where they can train."
