POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a robbery outside the council offices in Chester Lane, Sutton Manor, at about 4.30pm on Monday, December 6.
A security guard was returning to his van with cash when a man in a balaclava threatened him with a baseball bat and demanded the money. The security guard handed over the cash and the man escaped in a dark-coloured Ford Escort, later found abandoned on the Kwik Save car park in Clock Face Road.
The offender is 6ft tall, slim build and wearing a dark balaclava and dark clothing. He spoke with a Liverpool accent.
