WINGER Lee Cartwright will be out of action until the new year following an operation for knee surgery.
Cartwright could be out for around six weeks after keyhole surgery on his cartilage, necessary due to an injury he picked up against Bury.
LOAN striker Alex Mathie will stay at North End until the end of his agreed three-month period, according to North End chiefs.
The fears were that Mathie would be immediately recalled to Dundee United following the club's sale of Billy Dodds to Rangers.
