FOUR police officers from the Family Support Unit at Haydock have been commended by Merseyside Chief Constable, Norman Bettison.
Detective constables, Norman Seddon and Shelagh Gaskell, were commended for "outstanding detective work, professionalism and sensitivity" displayed throughout an enquiry which resulted in a man, who was responsible for several counts of rape and indecent assaults on three women over a 20-year period, being sentenced to 18 years imprisonment.
And detective constables, Peter Jordan and Pamela Webber, were commended for dedication and professionalism displayed during a complex investigation into a number of serious sexual offences which resulted in the offender being sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court to nine years imprisonment.
